Charles Eugene Walton Jr. (1868-1947)

This year, I am featuring my great grandfather, Charles Eugene Walton Jr.  He was born in Bountiful, Utah.  At the tender age of 11, Charles made the arduous journey through the Hole In The Rock to help found a Mormon settlement in Southeastern Utah.  Please click on his name or photo to go to his biography.

This Web page could just as well have been called The Leverich Family, or The Walton Family.  There are over 10,000 ancestors listed.  The original research was done by Leona Jean Walton Bailey (deceased), my Grandma Jean.  She had painstakingly researched up to 500 ancestors 40+ years ago. When I took over a few years back, I was able to expand on this greatly through the use of the local LDS Family History Center, a treasure trove of genealogical research.

For amusement purposes only, it is possible to trace my lineage on this website back to Adam and Eve.  Of course, this would be impossible to prove, but fun.

Another fun thing of hosting this website over the years has been receiving mail from distant cousins who have discovered a common ancestral link.  To date (October 2004), I have been contacted by over 100 different relatives whom I didn't know about until they e-mailed me.  If you find a common link, be sure to write and say hi. Also, if you find factual errors, I will be happy to correct them, as I've done in the past.  Some of the fun stories and bios of my ancestors have been gleaned from distant cousins who have donated stories.  I always appreciate this information when received and will incorporate it in my website with the submitter's permission.

I consider this my main genealogy website.  It contains the stories and photos of many of my different relatives and ancestors in book form.  The easiest way to find an ancestor on this website is to use the Surname Index (click on hyperlink below).
