(Bubo scandiacus)
This particular Snowy Owl spent several weeks in late February and early March 2009 hanging out in the town of Ontario New York (about 10 miles east of Rochester and 4 miles south of Lake Ontario) at a local subdivision pond. As there was no way to photograph this bird except on private property, I had to obtain permission first to gain access. Craig & Sheryl Akins were kind enough to alert me to the bird's presence and invite me over to see this magnificent bird.
